iWonder: social guidelines

To support the content production for a BBC iWonder Instagram account, I led on the creation of a set of guidelines for Instagram formatted iWonder infographics.

As a starting point I consulted with the BBC Visual Journalism team on what guidelines they already had for social infographic production. Combining this knowledge with the existing iWonder infographic guidelines I started to develop an iWonder specific set of Instagram guidelines.

I then created a series of draft infographics using a mix of new content and some pre-existing infographics. These were then posted to a test Instagram account to review typography hierarchy, positioning, readability, illustration layout options and logo placement. The test account was shared with the Knowledge & Learning UXD and Editorial teams for feedback.

After developing an initial draft of the guidelines, I ran a workshop to get feedback from my UX Design colleagues. Then adjusted the guidelines accordingly from the feedback to deliver the final draft.
